Privacy policy
This page explains what personal data plaiback collects, why, and what rights you have over it — most relevantly, when you use the wait-list form.
Who's responsible
The controller for the data described here is Evgenii Malikov, trading as plaiback, c/o MDC#1270, Welserstraße 3, 87463 Dietmannsried, Germany. Contact for anything on this page: [email protected]. See also our imprint.
What we collect
When you submit the wait-list form, we collect:
- Name and work email (required)
- Company, role interest, roles you hire for, referral source, and any free-text message (optional, whatever you fill in)
The form also runs Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-detection challenge. To do that, Turnstile processes your IP address and browser/device signals and may set a cookie; we don't receive or store the raw signals it collects, only a pass/fail result. See Cloudflare's own privacy documentation for how it handles that data.
Standard web-server logs (IP address, request metadata) are generated by our host, Cloudflare, for security and abuse prevention.
Why we collect it, and on what basis
To review and respond to your wait-list request — i.e. steps you asked us to take before entering into a possible agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) — and, for spam/abuse prevention via Turnstile and server logs, our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Who we share it with
Submitted requests are forwarded, as-is, to:
- Slack, our internal team messaging tool, where we review and follow up on requests
- Cloudflare, our hosting and form-processing provider
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising purposes. Both providers above are based in the United States; where data leaves the EU/UK, we rely on their respective Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep wait-list submissions for as long as we need them to review and follow up on your request. Once that's done and there's no ongoing reason to keep it — or if you ask us to delete it sooner — we remove it. If you become a customer, relevant details carry over into that relationship instead.
Your rights
Under GDPR/UK GDPR you can ask us to: give you a copy of what we hold on you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or (where we rely on legitimate interest) object to that use. Email [email protected] and we'll respond. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Cookies
We don't run analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookie in play is the one Cloudflare Turnstile may set to complete its bot check, which is necessary for the form to work.
